Celebrity icon Cher guest stars in Season 3 of the series as Chercophonie, a rock diva character who is as famous for her off-key tunes as she is for her outrageous fashion sense.

The intergalactic escapades of dynamic duo Tip and Oh reach new heights as these best friends head off on new adventures that push the residents of Earth and Boovsworld to their limits in all-new music-filled episodes of DreamWorks Home Adventures with Tip & Oh.There is no part of the galaxy that is out of reach as the pair find themselves on a mission to save Pig from a far off cat-planet, attending a wild alien prom, on safari on the plains of Boovsland and in a deep sea battle in the depths of Lake Michigan. This all-new third season of Home Adventures Of Tip & Oh premieres Friday August 11th only on Netflix.Picking up where the hit 2015 animated film left off and building upon their enduring friendship, the coming-of-age buddy comedy follows Tip and overenthusiastic Oh as they navigate the crazily combined human and alien culture they live in, finding adventure everywhere they go.The voice cast is led by Rachel Crow as Tip and Mark Whitten (Rolling High) as the voice of Oh, along with Ana Ortiz (Devious Maids, Ugly Betty), Ron Funches (Get Hard, Undateable), and Matt Jones (Breaking Bad, Mom). The series includes tons of memorable and toe-tapping original music that highlight Rachel Crow’s extraordinary vocal talents.Season 3 features a super-special guest star…the one and only Cher! Check out the featurette below to get a sneak peek at the iconic celebrity as Chercophonie, a rock diva character who is as famous for her off-key tunes as she is for her outrageous fashion sense, along with plenty of insights into her experience voicing the role. From Chris: This piece is a homage to a game that I love. It’s also an exercise in expressing character personality within a strict set of constraints. My goal was to keep the design as simple as possible, while still communicating the unique qualities of the various characters. Additionally, I wanted to limit myself to just using the characters’ heads in the portraits. No guns allowed!...Minus the exception of DVa’s suit...and Bastion’s gun is technically apart of his body.

“Footprints in Memories” - Concert Visuals Montage

https://vimeo.com/205199190

Trunk’s director Rok Predin is no stranger when it comes to creating concert visuals. His backdrops for Keith Urban, Sir Elton John, the Queen’s jubilee concert and for the Bingo Player’s latest tour have reached a combined audience of over 30 million. But his latest work is far more personal and intimate. He has been asked to create a series of eighteen visuals to be used as a backdrop at his father`s concerts. His father Zoran Predin is one of Slovenia`s most respected singer songwriters, with a string of hit singles to his name.

Zoran recently collaborated with one of Croatia`s most talented and respected pianists Matija Dedić on a bestselling album "Footprints in Memories" (Tragovi u sjeti).

Each tableaux created by Rok has visuals that reference specific lyrics or encapsulate the feeling of each song. He states "I approached each visual in terms of a theatre set or a photograph, i wanted to introduce a bit of magic and surrealism ti the songs and to have my loops come from unexpected places for the audience to enjoy".

Here you can see a montage of all of them set to one of Zoran`s most famous ballads entitled "Wait for Me" (Čakaj me)

Deep clip: Trouble is bubbling!

On August 25, Lionsgate will be releasing a fresh European animation catch to US theaters and On Demand: Deep, directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Julio Soto Gúrpide (Radiophobia). The CG family adventure combines a coming-of-age story with ecological themes set in a colorful world beneath the waves.

In the clip below, the little yellow octopus hero of our tale, Deep (voiced by Justin Felbinger) breaks out of his community’s safe zone and discovers some leftover human “treasures.” But, hastily trying to cover up his playing hookie from an important chore has unintended consequences! The Deep voice cast also features Stephen Ezra Hughes (Evo), Lindsey Alena (Alice), Elisabeth Catherine Gray (Maura), Anna Vocino (Norma) and Dwight Schultz (Kraken).

Synopsis: When a playful octopus named Deep gets his undersea fish colony in trouble, the tribe’s stern leader Kraken orders Deep to go find help. Joined by his splashy BFFs—a sassy shrimp and a silly anglerfish—Deep takes an epic, colorful journey through submerged cities and sunken ships, where they meet outrageous creatures that help the trio on its way. Throughout the adventure, Deep and his buddies laugh, sing, and bond with one another, proving that friendship can be a very “deep” subject.

Deep is a production of The Thinklab Media, UFUND, The Kraken Films, Grid Animation and Silver Reel.

THE LION'S BLAZE [ Cartoon ]

https://youtu.be/UkeJ-sIvyHw

New Form, an entertainment studio has released a pilot for Lion’s Blaze @ Studio Joho http://www.studiojoho.com/ — an adult-targeted animated series inspired by videogames from Olan Rogers.

Lion’s Blaze is a 2D animated comedy adventure about a group of four friends that have been trapped in an arcade game for 15 years. Just when they think they have the game figured out, one of the friends gets killed. In order to bring back their friend and get out of the game’s world, the group has to go on an epic quest to collect the remaining five “stones of the Lion’s Blaze.”

Rogers, an actor, producer and popular YouTube creator also leads the voice cast, joined by the talent behind his upcoming TBS original Final Space, which includes Conan O’Brien, Gina Torres, Fred Armisen, Steven Yeun and Ron Perlman.

Rogers’ work would not be out of place on Adult Swim, and his latest pilot is certainly appealing to fans of adult animation. In Final Space, Rogers mixed his madcap sensibilities with sci-fi tropes, but here, many of his jokes stem from video game logic and its numerous inconsistencies. If you enjoyed the last pilot Rogers and New Form made together, you’ll probably dig this one, too. There’s no guarantee The Lion’s Blaze will land its own TV deal, but it can at least stand up as a fun and amusing addition to its creator’s digital library.

Particles FX & environments created with Trapcode Suite

Although this project was initiated as an homage to Visual Music by creating abstract animations closely linked to music, and more specifically to the works of Walter Ruttmann and Oskar Fischinger, it quickly took off on its own path. Because of the origami bird, I wasn’t in complete abstraction anymore, and the whole thing became more “stylized” than “abstract.” Except for the bird, everything was created with particles and Trapcode Suite.

The Story of Zero - Getting Something from Nothing

What is zero? How did it come about? Hannah Fry tells the story of how zero went from nothing to something.

Once upon a time, zero wasn’t really a number. Its journey to the fully fledged number we know and love today was a meandering one. Today, zero is both a placeholder, and tool, within our number system signifying an absence of a value, and as a number in its own right.

But it wasn’t always seen as that, and it still doesn’t act quite like other numbers. Can you divide by zero, for example? Hannah Fry explains how zero came about, from its origins in ancient civilisations, through the resistance it faced from the Roman numeral system, to being the cornerstone of calculus.

SYNOPSIS
Through the eyes of a young girl suffering from mental illness, CALDERA glimpses into a world of psychosis and explores a world of ambiguous reality and the nature of life and death.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
CALDERA is inspired by my father's struggle with schizoaffective disorder. In states of delusion, my father has danced on the rings of Saturn, spoken with angels, and fled from his demons. He has lived both a fantastical and haunting life, but one that's invisible to the most of us. In our differing understanding of reality, we blindly mandate his medication, assimilate him to our marginalizing culture, and entirely misinterpret him for all he is worth. CALDERA aims to not only venerate my father, but all brilliant minds forged in the haunted depths of psychosis.

HISTORY
CALDERA was helmed by Evan Viera (Director/Composer/Co-Writer) and Chris Bishop (Co-writer/Animation Supervisor/Story Artist) and was produced at Hampshire College. CALDERA was the first film to go through the Bit Films Incubator Program, where founder and professor Chris Perry (co-producer/editor) invites orphaned independent films to be made on campus with the College's students and resources. MANY students and industry professionals generously donated their time to the making of this film. See below for the full credits list.

In a Heartbeat

"In a Heartbeat" - Animated Short Film by Beth David and Esteban Bravo

A closeted boy runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams.

From Deadline.com

A short, animated film from an animation intern working at Blue Sky Animation and another student who is now an employee of Jib-Jab and on her way to work as an an animator at Sony on a big Hollywood movie is getting a lot of attention online for its subject matter — LGBT love. Views for the film have grown by over 3M since yesterday afternoon on YouTube and it currently has 14.6M views since releasing only four days ago. In a Heartbeat, about a school boy crush on another boy, has gone viral and getting the attention of numerous celebrities and press across the nation.

Jeremy Edelblut

So, who’s behind it? The two filmmakers are Beth David, 21, from Cincinnati, Ohio and Esteban Bravo, 24, from Mexico City who met at the Ringling College of Design and Art in Florida. Both graduated this year. It was their first film collaboration and they wrote and directed the sweet story together. The total budget? $5K. They began it as a $3K Kickstarter campaign and it not only hit the goal but soared past it to $14K.

Since then, the two have landed representation at Verve. “It’s four-minutes long, and it’s tapped into the LGBT community in an important way. We are so proud be in business with this team,” Verve partner Bill Weinstein told Deadline. He said once they saw the work, they signed them right out of school. “What this shows is that there is a tremendous, under-served audience,” he said. “Verve is proud to help amplify the voices of its minority employees and clientele that make up our community.”

In a Heartbeat tells the story of a closeted boy who runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams.

David will be part of the animation team at Sony this year working on Hotel Transylvania 3.

MAVKA. The Forest Song. Official Teaser Trailer 1

https://youtu.be/effkoBQqm7g

Watch the new teaser trailer of Ukrainian animated feature film ‘Mavka. The Forest Song’!
The magic world of the ancient forest, incredible adventures and fantastic heroes that will soon be discovered by the whole world! Mavka - a soul of the Forest, she is nature herself, she is complex, mysterious and two-folded: tender and caring when in love, but fierce and defensive when hurt. Nevertheless, her main feature is that she always strives for peace and harmony. This is the story about the magical power of love.

Since time immemorial, the vast Ukrainian forests have harbored countless secrets and unfathomable mysteries. They are home to wondrous mythical creatures dwelling among ancient trees, faithfully guarding their sacred realm. Mavka is a soul of the Forest. Her primary mission is to protect the Forest and its sacrosanct Heart – the source of life itself – against any aggression or intrusion, including on the part of humans. Lukash is an unassuming farm boy, who has a great love of music and pours his talent into playing the flute. It is largely thanks to Lukash’s music that a miracle takes place: Mavka and Lukash meet and fall in love. From the start, their union is pitted against formidable odds, but the obstacles loom even larger once the avaricious Evilyn arrives on the scene and sets about building a sawmill at the edge of the Forest. This serves as a façade to mask her true purpose: to get a hold of the Heart of the Forest – the key to which is Mavka herself, who is already rendered vulnerable by her blossoming feelings for Lukash. To get to Mavka, Evilyn wields Lukash as her weapon, and strikes anger and fear into the hearts of the villagers. Will Mavka and Lukash be able to defend their feelings for each other? Will Mavka be able to save the forest and protect her love? Will each of the two young lovers from different worlds make the right choice?
