Brave

LINE OF ACTION: Bravery is another subtle expression. The signature lines of a brave face are a relaxed bottom half of the face contrasted by a stern brow and intent eyes upon what the character must face. How brave the individual is defines how relaxed the brow becomes. Brave, Dare and Commanding have similar traits; but each has it's own signature "tell" that reveals what the person is thinking.

Brave reveals the person is putting on a show. The little bit of furrow and worry in the brow reveals that "I am being brave here and might not be as sure of myself as you think." Commanding and dare would never reveal that worried brow because those emotions know they are in control of the situation. This is very subtle difference between the three emotions.

DEFINITION: Courage, also known as bravery, will, intrepidity, and fortitude, is the ability to confront fear, pain, risk/danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. "Physical courage" is courage in the face of physical pain, hardship, or threat of death, while "moral courage" is the ability to act rightly in the face of popular opposition, shame, scandal, or discouragement. Possessing or displaying courage; able to face and deal with danger or fear without flinching; "Familiarity with danger makes a brave man braver."
